Laura Bell Bundy Inspired Board

Today's day 4 of a Country Music Video inspired wedding week.  Today's wedding board was inspired by this picture and Laura Bell Bundy's lavender dress in Miranda Lambert's latest video.

Here's the wedding inspiration board:

LBellBundy Wedding

Here's a Spark menu card that would be an amazing addition to your wedding place settings.

Ways to incorporate lilac, lavender and purple into your wedding:

  1. This Jenny Yoo bridesmaid dress would be the perfect addition to your wedding party's attire.
  2. Have your baker create lavender iced cupcakes with a sprig of fresh lavender.
  3. Your flower girls can wear lilac or purple colored sashes with their dresses.
  4. Incorporate fresh lavender into your centerpieces.
  5. These Martha Stewart favors are chocolate bars wrapped in paper printed with a lilac-colored ink
  6. Adorn your wedding gown with a lilac sash!  I'm obsessed with the sashes on wedding gowns.  I had one bride who wore one color for her wedding  and another color for her reception-how fun is that?  I know of another bride who had her sash monogrammed with her married name.
  7. Create a simple dessert bar with glass pedestals and all the plates and napkins below.  I love using big furniture pieces in a dessert bar.  This particular image features lilac and pink colored desserts.
  8. Incorporate fresh lavender in your groom's boutonniere.

Hillary Scott-Lady Antebellum-Inspired Wedding Board

Today is the 3rd day of wedding boards inspired by a Miranda Lambert video and her country co-starts.

Today's board is a blue inspired board with yellow accents based on Hillary Scott's dress seen here.

How fun would these bridesmaid's dresses be for a vintage inspired wedding?

Now it's time for the wedding inspiration board!

Ways to incorporate this color scheme into your wedding:

  1. Everyone always remembers to talk about wedding invitations, but "thank you" notes are just as important.  Okay, well maybe not as important as your invitation, but you do want to have a wonderful way to say thank you for all the gifts you'll receive.  Why not have one in your color scheme!  This thank you note is a Wiley Valentine design that I think would work fabulous with this color scheme.
  2. For your bridal portrait, why not incorporate a monogrammed parasol, in a beautiful blue calligraphy!  It's a simple touch, but look at the "wow" factor in this image.
  3. Utilizing various shades of blue with accents of yellow is a beautiful color combination.  This wedding features blue cushioned seating with vintage floral prints on the pillows.  I like the little accents of pink as well.
  4. If yellow isn't your color, you can always stick with elegant white florals.  White really pops against blue!
  5. Don't forget to reserve a fab get-away car.  To keep with the vintage feel of this video shoot, as well as the blue color scheme, check out this fun vintage car complete with a "Just Married" sign and streamers.  Leave your reception in style!
  6. This dessert bar, complete with yellow and white fabrics, vintage milk glass containers and a turquoise blue backdrop is breathtaking.

Miranda Lambert Inspired Wedding Board

Yesterday's post featured a mint-green wedding board inspired by Kellie Pickler's dress in Miranda Lambert's new video.  Today, I'm featuring Miranda's peach colored vintage dress.

MLambert Wedding

To incorporate peach in your wedding color scheme, here are some ideas:

  1. Use a combination of vintage silver and glass, along with fun chalkboards in your tablescape.  Also, incorporate antique glass containers and fill with peach-hued flowers.  How cool that the initials in this picture are "M" and "B" (works out perfect for Miranda and Blake!)
  2. I love when photographers use sepia tone in their portfolios.  It works perfect for a vintage inspired wedding because it really captures the timeless essence of the wedding day.
  3. Using a front porch, an antique table and simple florals really brings together this tablescape.  There is nothing more Southern than an amazing front porch!  I love how the florals have peach and pink toned hues.
  4. How adorable is this little ring bearer!  The bouquet he's holding works perfect with a peach color scheme.  I also love how this bride is carrying a simple magnolia.  It is classic and elegant.
  5. This dessert bar by Sweet and Saucy is one of my favorites!  I love the "Just Married" banner at the bottom, along with the mixture of cake pedestals and assorted desserts.  Why not incorporate you and your groom's favorite desserts into your bar, and possibly some old family recipes!  Make your wedding unique by using antique display pieces and your family's favorite desserts.

Kellie Pickler Inspired Mint-Green Wedding Board

Last week on Twitter, I saw a picture posted of an upcoming Miranda Lambert video called "Only Prettier."  She enlisted the help of Laura Bell Bundy, Kellie Picker and Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott.  Here's a picture from that video.

After seeing the fabulous pastel vintage dresses, I decided to design some inspiration boards around these dresses.  (You may remember last month I designed 5 different weddings around the fab frocks that stars wore for the CMT Award show.  I live in Music City and our country stars know how to dress!)

Here's the mint green inspired wedding board I designed based on Kellie Pickler's dress.
KPick Wedding

Here are ways to incorporate mint green into your wedding and reception:

  1. Using long tables for guests at dinner, incorporate green and white flowers and accent with chocolate brown.
  2. I'm in love with this cake by Jay from Maple's Cakes here in Nashville.  The detail work on it is amazing!
  3. I'm loving this Priscilla of Boston bridesmaid's dress.  One of my May brides is using this same dress for her wedding next year, but in amethyst.  I love the pockets and it's a dress your girls can wear again after the wedding!
  4. We all know Kellie has rocked a pair of "Red High Heels."  Here's my take on some mint green ones to add to your wedding dress.
  5. Using moss as a base, you can display custom butler/place cards at your wedding reception
  6. I love using chandeliers, especially in this picture where they've displayed a ton of different styles. Don't be afraid to mix and match!
  7. Serve a signature drink with fresh mint as a garnish to incorporate mint green.

Celebrating my 8th Wedding Anniversary

8 years ago today, July 20, 2002, I married my high-school sweetheart, Josh in Jackson, Tennessee. I always love pulling out my wedding album and "reliving" that amazing day!
I thought I'd share a few pictures with you all and a few memories from my wedding day.

All images were taken by Hill Photography in Jackson, Tennessee. Eddie and Connie are a very talented husband/wife photographic team.  Although they no longer do weddings, they continue to do family and children portraits.

My sister, Mary, and I as I enter the church to get ready.

Josh as he prepares to enter the church to get ready for our wedding.

My elementary school art teacher did all the signs for my wedding wreaths.  These flanked both church doors.

My "something old" was a button from my deceased grandfather's  business suit.  We had my grand-daddy's button sewn into the fabric on my wedding bouquet.

I had all of my bridesmaids sign the bottom of my wedding shoes.  On one side were all the single ladies, and the other shoe had all the married ladies.  At the end of the night, we checked to see whose name was left!  If you were single and your name was still on my shoe, you were the next to get engaged.  If your were married and your name was left, then you were the next to have a baby!

I designed my wedding programs.  I love to write, so I included a brief paragraph about all the members of my wedding party and how I met them.  I thought it would be fun for my guests to read why my wedding party was so special to me.
I incorporated a ton of family photos at my reception.  I had family wedding photos, family wedding invitations and pictures of Josh and I.  I love incorporating old family photos into weddings!

A few shots of Josh and I on our wedding day!

I hope you enjoyed seeing a glimpse into my wedding day!  I can't believe it's been eight years, and I look forward to so many more!

April Wedding at Cheekwood

In April, I had the pleasure of working with Art and Kim on their April 17th wedding and reception at Cheekwood.

Cheekwood is a 55-acre botanical garden and art museum located on the historic Cheek estate. Cheekwood exists to celebrate and preserve its landscape, buildings, art and botanical collections and, through these unique means, provide an inspiring place for visitors to explore their connections with art, nature and the environment.

The weather that Saturday was absolutely gorgeous, and all the flowers in the Wills Perennial Garden had just started to bloom.

Here are some pictures from the wedding I wanted to share with all of you.
(Images are courtesy of David and Jeanell of Dreamland Pictures)

Venue: Cheekwood
Ceremony: Wills Perennial Garden
Reception: The Frist Learning Center
Photography: Dreamland Pictures
Videography: Audio Video Art
Cake: Dulce Desserts
Florist: Jimm Wright

One beautiful touch that Kim wanted for the ceremony was a butterfly release to honor their deceased loved ones. Her mom, Marilyn, grew the butterflies from a kit at home! Here is the butterfly basket the junior bridesmaid carried.

I love when my brides wear a pair of fun, sassy shoes!

This picture captures the butterfly release during the ceremony.

Kim and Art's love for the earth and outdoors showed in their reception as well. Here is the butterfly tree Jimm Wright created for the placecard table.

Art and Kim wanted their wedding to be as "green-friendly" as possible. On the center of each table was a simply elegant orchid plant. At the end of the evening, there were given away to guests to re-use in their own homes.

Each place setting had this seed packet that guests could take home.

Fabulous shrimp and grits!

This photo served as the guest book for the wedding. The bride and groom got engaged beneath this very tree out West!

Governor of the State of Tennessee, Phil Bredesen gave the blessing for the meal.

The Governor congratulating the bride and groom before dinner.

Dulce Desserts designed this multi-tiered cake, accented with orchids and butterflies.

Happy Planning to all!
