One area that sometimes gets overlooked is the display for place cards.
If you are having a formal seated dinner at your reception, or if you're entertaining at home and want to use assigned seating, here are some ideas to get you started.
From the tree centerpiece with a moss-lined tray to the patterned fabric cards from Martha Stewart, I encourage you to be creative when it comes to displaying your guest's name and table number. One of my favorites is from 100layercake.com and features colored sodas with individual labels.
Another creative use of placecards is to have it serve as double-duty. For example, the maple syrup bottles doubled as place cards and wedding favors, and was featured on Country Living.
A quick and inexpensive way to create placecards for parties is to use what you already have on hand. Take a lemon or an orange and write the guest's name on it, or use ordinary closepins and attach the placecard to strands of ribbon. Mix in with it fun black and white photos, and your display is done!
I hope you have a fabulous Monday!
